Jagatnatha Temple Bali Philosophy

The name of Jaganatha Temple is taken from the special name which is not similar to other familiar temples in Bali taken from the location where the temple is situated such as Besakih Temple, Ulundanu Batur Temple, Lempuyang Luhur Temple, Luhur Andakasa Temple, Puncak Mangu Temple, etc. Among other famous Hindu Temple in Bali, the first ceremony held at Jagatnatha Temple is also similar with other temples by conducting small ceremony procession. The uniqueness of this temple is not having the Pengemong (the group of people/organization/team who support, keep, and maintain the temple) like other temples in Bali, but it only owns the small volunteers and people who worship at this temple.

In the beginning, this temple is managed by the temple development committee of Jaganatha Temple and afterward managed by The Hindu Holiday Committee which is institutionally stipulated Badung Regency Government decree. But nowadays, this temple has been taken over by the government of Denpasar City.

Padmasana is the main building of the temple as a symbol of a seat of Sang Hyang Widhi (God). Please see and compare the Titi Ugal-Agil at Agung Taro Temple located in Taro Village and Taman Sari Temple located in Klungkung town. The function of Titi Ugal-Agil is to purify every Hindu people who enter the main temple area.
  • Twin Canopies
The twin canopies are set in front of Padmasana and the canopies building at temples in Bali Island generally has function to put the embodiment of god or Gagaluh on the procession of ceremony (Pawedalan). However, the Pawedalan at Jagatnatha Temple has function as an altar to put the offerings especially on praying procession of Balinese Hindu Holyday such as full moon, dark moon, Galungan and Kuningan Days, Saraswati Day, Siwaratri Day and other important days.

We had an amazing day with Bali Snorkeling! Our tour included a private car to visit the three iconic west Nusa Penida attractions, followed by lunch and snorkeling at three different spots. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see manta this time, but we still saw plenty of beautiful fish and coral. The itinerary was very well organized. After lunch, we had enough time to rest and get ready before heading out for snorkeling. We also felt very safe during the snorkeling trip. The guide was friendly and professional. Water was offered on the boat, which we really appreciated. Our driver was also excellent. He was friendly and drove very safely. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would definitely recommend Bali Snorkeling to anyone visiting Nusa Penida!

From hotel pick-up to drop-off, our experience with Bali Snorkeling was great. The transfer drivers were friendly and ensured that you linked up to where you needed to go. The snorkelling boat was not crowded and the guide was friendly and made sure we got to se the best of the three spots we went to. We were lucky to see multiple turtles and Manta rays. Lunch at the resort was very good, and was even better with the pool and showers to finish off.

We had a fantastic day trip out to Nusa Penida with Bali snorkelling. From the moment the driver picked us up from our hotel, arranged the fast boat tickets for us without us having to queue up and took us to the boat. Then the guys from Bali snorkelling met us as we arrived on the island and took us to their boat for the most amazing snorkelling trip. They were very attentive whilst in the water ensuring that we stayed close to them and were safe at all times. At one of the stops they determined that the currents were too strong and after checking with us that we were happy, moved onto a different area. This was one of the reasons that we chose this company because we had read that they put safety above all else and this was really reassuring to see As we are not experienced snook Ellis. After the snorkelling trip we spent an hour or so at a lovely beach club where lunch was included and then back on the fast boat home. Whilst not guaranteed, we were really lucky to have an encounter with a Manta Ray at Manta Bay Which was the most incredible experience And they also captured some great underwater video footage for us which was shared after the trip and something we could never have done ourselves.

From the start the driver was amazing and getting there it was beautiful, everyone was so friendly and accommodating, having all equipment we needed in many sizes. The guide was sweet and showed us all the best places reef wise. The reef was breathtaking and many fishes swimming right next to you. Both spots were perfect and the boat ride was amazing. Driving us back to our villa, would recommend first timers to definitely try this out it’s worth every penny and even give you lunch!

We really appreciated and enjoyed their low key and family style operation. The whole package was well worth it. Felt like the real Bali. I will always recommend them to others who want to have an enjoyable and safe snorkeling. They had a great location to see many varieties of sea life.
